Most of us could have much more if we wanted it. Everyone makes choices with what to do with their life. And I am wise enough to know what I want and how to achieve it. I am very comfortable with my choices. And that is the important thing; they are MY choices, not the government's choices.

You shouldn't think your choices are any better than others. You may choose to sit by a stream. I may choose to ride my Harley. I have no issue with your choices, but don't try to choose for me.

Gates all but stole his billions from the people, by stealing other people's ideas, but using dubious practices when trying to create a monopoly, etc. Sorry, but I am not impressed by a criminal doing community service...

Stealing is illegal. He didn't steal anything from Apple. In fact, he PAID for a license to use Apple's GUI in 1988.

You really should learn the facts.

With all due respect, to me that sounds like a miserable way to live. I would much rather have a whiskey sour in hand at a bar overlooking the downtown of a thriving city than listen to rain. I would much rather fly to Colorado and go rock climbing for a week, then fly to NYC to tour the MET a few months later than walking around beside a brook.

Life your live however you want. If you enjoy the way you live, then great! Just stop being so arrogant as to think that your way of living is better than any other. Personally? I am not important enough to sit around listening to rain and not contributing to future generation's economic livelihoods.

You are confusing wisdom with an arrogance.
I do think my way of life is better, simply because it is much more sustainable and much less invasive. That is all that matters to me. The world is not about my having fun, it is not about me at all. It is about surviving in the very long run, just like it has always been.

MS stole all kinds of stuff. Plus, most people at MS are not rich anyway. Gates alone would be nothing without all his programmers...

The entire point of that exercise is to distinguish the distribution of "financial" wealth (stocks, bonds etc) which is concentrated in a small number of hands, from the commonly-held wealth of owning one's home.
