Both Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson had foreign born parents.
Yes, that is why they were grandfathered in as presidents. The first few presidents weren't natural born Citizens. That was the only time a born-Citizen could be president until a U.S. natural born Citizen became eligible later on.
Seems the federal courts do not agree with this lawywer or the Op has it been to FED courts before. lawyers do not make ruling on cases and in fac in each case there are at least two who disagree.

I guess Romney would have been ineligible as well seeing as how his father was born in Mexico.
He just stated what I posted on another forum. A2s1c5 says:
Quote:
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.
the president can either be a "natural born" [old term]...OR a citizen.
The 14th amendment added former black slaves and women as citizens to read: "ALL PERSONS" .
We have to use the 14th's definition of 'citizen" otherwise no black nor woman could be President.
Natural born is an antiquated term that should no longer be used to define a citizen of the US.
Mr. Titus failed to explain the Or citizen in A2S1c5...and there were cuts/edits in the end of the explanation. Didn't like that.

i'll admit that it's an awkward comma between "or a citizen of the United States" and "at the time of the adoption of this Constitution" but i doubt you'd find any legal authority that would agree that naturalized citizens are eligible for POTUS.
That's because Tea Party Ted is the same person as Old Army Soldier. Compare the paragraph on the first post here:
Quote:
Mr. Titus holds the J.D. degree (*** laude) from Harvard and the B.S. degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He is an active member of the bar of Virginia and an inactive member of the bar of Oregon. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States Court of Claims, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, District of Columbia and Federal Circuits. His constitutional practice has taken him into federal district courts in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Montana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Wyoming, and the District of Columbia and the state courts of Idaho, Texas and North Dakota.
To the paragraph on the post you linked to just before this:

Nice try Old Army Steve, but if you are going to be so lazy as to not to even try to paraphrase your old cut and pastes, it doesn't make the game that much fun.

You are trying to explain something to someone who, apparently doesn't have any idea of what the constitution says.
