For example I honestly believe that if Lincoln were alive today he would not win the presidency due to his looks. Sadly I think we've become a shallow nation.

What passes for attractive can change from time to time, sometimes in subtle ways. I think society has always been shallow.

You mean like that stupid graphic your fellow conservatives are always posting here showing beautiful young Republican women and the worst possible photos of older Democratic women? "Ours and Theirs" I believe it's called.

both left and right are shallow. i wish we could not vote unless you knew something about the person being voted for. I wish the poll booths did not let you know if they are dems or repubs. it was just the name of the nominee. we are so shallow that when many folks vote, they have no idea who the person is. if they have a D or an R next to their names, they get the vote. now that is stupider than not voting. that is really shallow. putting your trust in an a letter. D or R.
