A person is not killed by a gun, they are killed by a murderer...a human being....
our country had become so lawless and ridiculously liberal, now you have a whole lot of uneducated people/criminals loose, who are murdering for a dime....and the less jobs we have out there, the more your going to see this, yes, crime is escalating, but not b/c of guns, b/c people are getting desperate.....

I don't understand, how people can be so hugely uninformed and quick to outlaw guns...I guess because it is their agenda regardless, so they make it seem like the guns are the lawless, instead of the people behind the guns, and what is scarey, is, that people actually believe this.

There are a whole lot of uneducated people out there who should not be parents, they do not know how to parent...nor do they care about their kids obeying the laws....poverty breeds poverty...and when people are hungry they will do anything to eat...sell drugs, whatever....plus all the gangs in the U.S. now from other countries....
You outlaw guns, all your going to do is create another underground lucrative business for these gangs and criminals....b/c they WILL get the guns....do you honestly think and believe they won't, just b/c you outlaw them?
You people never learn or never look back at history...
What do you think happened when they outlawed liquor? The criminals were jumping for joy, b/c now, the U.S. just invented a new lucritive business for them.
Geeze Louise?

and those states do have the lowest educated people...it's not only education, it's about teaching kids growing up morals and respect for the lives and property of others....

And Georgia? They have the worst school systems, my Grand daughter went there...she was flunking, they moved to anther state, and she is on the honor roll.....

I'm not buying your stats either. Violence is violence regardless of the tool used. Here's what i came up with :

Most violent states per 100k , this takes in account all forms of violence

Most Violent States in America

National Average – 386.3 per 100,000
1. District of Columbia – 1,202.1
2. Tennessee – 608.2
3. Alaska – 606.5
4. South Carolina – 571.9
5. New Mexico – 567.5

Read more at Most Violent States in America*|*American Live Wire

Doesn't DC have some of the most strict gun laws ?

Yup, its frightening to see how many people cant grasp the concept that its not the guns, its the people.

This OP is willing to sacrifice freedom and the constitution for security. And the security is actually a false sense of security because they believe its the guns doing the killings.

Personally, anybody who wants to sacrifice freedom for security deserves neither.

I read it somewhere on here before. This bunch is so afraid, as in bed wetting afraid, of something they don't understand it's all they think about. Banning weapons.

I agree, but there is much much more...the op along with many other American's have become uninformed, and liberal by nature due to so many liberal college professors, pounding into them, that liberal is the way to go...they are actually brainwashed....

Another reason is instant gratification...they are so unable to look at the long term effects? are there any, and what could happen if they do this?

Those states that he/she listed, are states with a very low grade educational system, and high rate of criminals to begin with.
Mark my words, they will pass gun laws, but the crime rate will not come down, and now you have an underground gun market, just like drugs...the criminals will be the ones who get rich, and you'll see a higher rate of people killed by guns....it will become like back in the 40's when the mafia ruled....and right now in this country the gangs are unbelievable....I'm talking, all kinds of ethnic gangs, and so many people are unaware of this....don't believe it, until it effects them in their home, then it's to late.

As if every statistic you gun fondlers post isn't from a pro-gun site.
