WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The civilian labor force declined by 496,000 from February to March, and the labor force participation rate decreased by 0.2 percentage point to 63.3%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. March's labor force participation rate is the lowest since the economic stagflation days of 1979.

Money: U.S. Labor Participation Rate Lowest Since 1979

Thanks Barack Carter! We knew you'd be successful at something!

This could also be a reflection of an aging population. If an old dog can't learn new tricks, he'll go lay down on the porch.

Could be. But it's not. It's a symptom of the problem, which is 4 years of failed economic policy.

There has been no economic policy, just plugging holes in a levee. However, that is a failure of the entire leadership in Washington. And it isn't just a policy problem, it is a vision problem. No one can see beyond their next election to even think of long-term policy.

Nope Obama getting a second term, doesn't kill anyone. What should kill you, is that Barry put one over on you and all the other naive sheeple, ignorant people out there.

And then this is the result!

The joke is on all the unemployed, standing in lines, who voted for unemployment, if they voted for the wanabe hollyweird celebrity President. Lets not go there, i know many who are out of work at this time and getting desperate. Still going on.

Nope they are not lazy, or want things handed to them on a silver platter as some do.

Forward Not, Backwards yes. His policies suck big time, just damn admit it.

That would be akin to admitting that gravity exists. It sort of shouts that fact all by itself - in Clubs.

Yep-

One can expect a poor economy from an inept president with an incompetent staff.

As McCain (usually not a big John McCain fan) said, "We will get a chance to see what the second term of Jimmy Carter would have looked like".

How true. Oddly, those who voted for Obama are suffering the most. Sometimes you get what you deserve.
