"Federal judge threw out a lawsuit Thursday that claimed Hebrew National's hot dogs and other meat products weren't entirely kosher, saying such a standard was "intrinsically religious in nature" and outside the court's purview."
I would think the Muslim law suit would be the same but they won? WOW
Anyone who is smart enough knows that McDonald's has it's own brand. In knowing this, why wouldn't he look for a restaurant that may provide this option? If I'm McDonald's Corp, I'd fight this tooth and nail!
They did and they LOST. No one forced those McDee places to advertise that they provided Halal food. They did themselves, in order to sell to a particular group of customers. They were fudging it and they got caught. I'm just suprised the award was not a lot bigger.

Isn't that the same as winning? Maybe the restaurant should have brought up the Kosher case as being religious and the court could not rule on it. Same thing here.
The owner of Doheny, Michael Engelman, faces accusations of selling meat that was not properly certified under kosher rules. Last week, a council of rabbis pulled Doheny's kosher certification and, in a statement Friday, raised the possibility of legal action.
A Los Angeles man filed a class-action lawsuit against the market and its owner Tuesday, seeking unspecified damages and alleging fraud, false advertising and other charges.
Joshua Fard, 30, of Beverly Hills has three children and said he and his family bought meat from Doheny on a quarterly basis.
And you thought your chicken sandwich was being prepared according to Islamic law? Think again - sue the b__s! (... as long as McDonald's is paying, not the taxpayers).
'A judge on Wednesday finalized a $700,000 settlement between McDonald's Corp. and members of Michigan's Muslim community over claims a suburban Detroit restaurant falsely advertised its food as prepared according to Islamic law.
Ahmed Ahmed, the Dearborn Heights man who represents plaintiffs in the class-action suit, claims he bought a chicken sandwich in September 2011 at the restaurant but found it wasn't halal.
Islam forbids consumption of pork, and God's name must be invoked before an animal providing meat for consumption is slaughtered.'
If you want to play the diversity game better play it right or pay. I don't see anything wrong with this lawsuit. This is what happens when you try to be everything for anything.
