I know what you said. I was just commenting that the Committee was already told about what they could and could not ask about.
I would imagine there's not a lot of people that can hear about covert CIA operations occurring in Libya.
What they could and could not ask in the public hearings. The point for closed hearings is to open up areas that are not subject to public exposure. Of course they can only dig so deep, as there are levels of what is classified, but there is a possibility that more information could come out - such as the gun running to Syria, how much did the WH know about the operation and who knew what? The WH knew there was a CIA presence, how much did the WH know and what did the WH clear? The gun running to Syria has never been addressed, yet it is public. There has been no confirmation or denial that the CIA was involved. Obvoiusly this can't be questioned in public, but I highly doubt that the entire operation is classified.
Because Susan Rice's comments align with many of the points that were mentioned in the earlier CIA versions of the talking points, that were dropped from later versions of those talking points.
Bull****! The Republican party bragged on him like a king for five years following that. They even overlooked his gross mishandling of the coast after Katrina. 1500 people died in New Orleans and absolutely not one word about them is mentioned in the new Bush Library. I loved it when Barbara Bush after being asked about Jeb running for president next time she said, "We've Had Enough Bushes"
It is just like a liberal knee jerk reaction. Any time accountability at the White House comes up, the Bush/Katrina narrative gets trotted out. The problems with the liberal version of the Katrina narrative are that they assign all blame on Bush. Liberals completely excuse the Democratic Governor, Kathleen Blanco, and New Orleans Mayor, Ray Nagin, also a Democrat. Reviews have proven that the inaction and fumbling on the part of the state and local governments actually impeded federal relief supplies. Nagin repeatedly ignored recommendations from the National Hurricane Center to issue mandatory evacuation orders. This delay led to the people being trapped in the Super Dome. Though there were plans for evacuation those with no means to do so themselves, they were never put into action. Explain to me how Mississippi, which experienced just as much devastation as Louisiana was able to recover without the problems experienced in Louisiana? Sure Bush/FEMA, etc. could have done better, but it is nothing short of willful ignorance to lay the sole blame for the aftermath of Katrina at his feet.
This whole thing just get stranger and stranger. And all the while, the WH continues to stone wall
Yes, I knew I remember hearing about this on Fox News. They were reporting it in October 2012.
Was Syrian weapons shipment factor in ambassador’s Benghazi visit? Published October 25, 2012
Fox News has confirmed that the Libyan-flagged vessel Al Entisar, which means "The Victory," was received in the Turkish port of Iskenderun -- 35 miles from the Syrian border -- on Sept. 6, just five days before Ambassador Chris Stevens, information management officer Sean Smith and former Navy Seals Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed during an extended assault by more than 100 Islamist militants.
On the night of Sept. 11, in what would become his last known public meeting, Stevens met with the Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin
a source told Fox News that Stevens was in Benghazi to negotiate a weapons transfer, an effort to get SA-7 missiles out of the hands of Libya-based extremists.
Fox News was also talked about this in October 2012.

You continue to rely on the CIA talking points as fact when you don't know if they are accurate or true. Apparently the ORIGINAL CIA talking points went through several revisions by the State Dept. and it was the final version that Rice quoted from. The version that the State Dept/Obama adminisration was satisfied with.
First off, I think its been pretty well shown the the original CIA assessment was wrong.
Susan Rice referenced items from the CIA talking points that were deleted from later edited version of those talking points. She went beyond the final version of the CIA talking points, yet used the language and content of the earlier versions of the talking points.
In comments that went largely unnoticed, Missouri Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R) directly blamed President Obama for ordering the stand down which facilitated the assault on the US consulate in Benghazi.
A growing body of evidence also suggests that the entire purpose of the consulate in Benghazi and Ambassador Stevens’ role there was to oversee clandestine arms shipments to Syrian rebels.
WH keeps pointing to a review board that clearly wasn't thorough.
