I've heard that line before. There is a big difference between the Democrats of 1900 are far different from the Democrats of today. Big difference, so I wouldn't try that.

Without the security generously provided by the United States, none of the left-leaning countries mentioned so far could ever be able to spend so much on butter vs guns.

Let us not forget what happened when Sharia Law overtook the Iberian Peninsula.

Do you soley depend upon hearsay or do you ever resort to reading?

..and while we're on the subject, the red states should stop taking more of fed taxes that the blue states pay in.
Uh, the states that receive the most federal dollars are CA, NY, IL, TX, and OH. One of those is red.

San Francisco and Seattle are thriving cities with very liberal laws...maybe too liberal, but liberal nonetheless. High GDP growth rates, very intelligent people, and high paying jobs.

the blue states have better economies and better standards of living than red states. It's the red states that get back from the government more that they pay in taxes.

San Francisco has a min wage of $10.50 and a unemployment rate of 5.4%.
