Then they should have followed the same rule with the Assistant Principal who also brought a gun to school, but only got suspended for 3 days with no felony charge. The lesson this young man is going to learn is that rules and justice are not meted out equally.

It is not illegal for a teenager to own a shotgun.
Of course you wouldn't know that though. We don't expect gun-hating liberals to be informed.
They should have allowed him to have his parent come and get the gun.
That being said, there are rules, those rules apply to every student, he broke the rules.
I'm no gun fan but "rules are rules" is the STUPIDEST argument for anything you can use. Rules without logic and reason are way more dangerous than that gun. I learned long ago that every RULE had exceptions, that's why I'm against most of them unless they are broad and used along side human thought and logic rather than INSTEAD OF. I'm against all rules that tie anyones hands and let them say "there is nothing I can do...rules is rules". What a STUPID society we are when that becomes ok.
He's clearly had excellent 'stupid' role models at school.
And what is he going to learn from this? No good deed goes un-punished, honesty does NOT pay, authority figures can NOT be trusted.
It's amazing the laws that liberals fully support "zero tolerance" for. They're jumping for joy at this young man being expelled and having a felony but have no problem with OWS squatters, illegal aliens, 'medicinal' pot smokers and on and on. If they didn't have double standards they'd have none at all.
