New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is swatting down criticism from GOP ranks that he isn’t conservative enough, saying in an interview airing Friday that he’s a “damn good Republican.”
“Is it a fair question to ask that if you ran as a Republican for president of the United States, what Republican Party do you see that would support your candidacy out there right now? How would you survive a primary process on the current set-up of the Republican Party?” NBC’s Brian Williams asked Christie, who is considered to be mulling a 2016 run.

You're a Progressive(regressive?) Democrat Christie. You're not fooling anyone.

Stinking rinos.

The problem is he's not a Republican. He's your typical east coast communist.

Would you like more sugar with your kool aid?

He is the king of the RINOs and no, he is not a good republican. If you listen to his speech at the GOP convention and consider some of his actions after Sandy, you can't help to think that his sole motivator is what he thinks will get him elected. I don't think he got over not getting the GOP VP slot.

No self respecting Republican would give Hussein Obama one iota of praise and support. He is not 100% partisan which is unacceptable to the GOP.

He's losing the weight for his health not for a run at POTUS.

lol, he's a classic RINO in every sense of the meaning. Not even close to "conservative".

Just like Bloomberg in New York. He was, and most say he still is, a Democrat before he ran for Mayor. He suddenly became a Republican in 2001. The northeastern States have a propensity for electing RINOs, such as Sen. Olympia Snowe.

Democrats know they cannot get elected if they campaigned on the issues they truly believe in. So they lie and pretend to be Republican conservatives in order to get elected to office. A classic example is Obama, who at least remained a Democrat, but still campaigned as a Republican conservative.

There is no such thing as a RINO (or a DINO). Parties in the country are not 110% pure ideology.

Keep it up GOP, you keep turning more 20-30 somethings into Democrats. I was a Republican but I won't vote for 99% of the party any longer...

30 years ago, Christie would have been considered a center-right Republican. Today, since the Republican Party has moved far right, is considered somewhat liberal (even though he likes to slash taxes and reduce government) to current Republicans.

It's really a matter of how extremist the GOP has become. Rockefeller was a centrist when he was NYS governor and VP of the U.S. Today, the GOP would call him a flaming liberal.

Hmmm, sounds fair enough
