It just sounds like it's their, or the intelligence communities, FUBAR.

I want to know if there were indications that terrorists were targeting the embassy.
If so, why was no boost in security ordered.
And, who dropped the ball.
Was there a coverup afterwards?
If so, by who?
Isn't that the purpose of the hearings? To get answers to the above, and to get as much information as possible?

With all the prior attacks before Benghazi on foreign presence in Libya, including the attack on the British embassy which eventually shut down, it's safe to assume that there was a higher level and likelihood that the embassy or the annex or the "compound" could be a target, especially the compound as there were a few instances that took place there prior to Benghazi.

Last month there was a car bomb which may have been meant for the French embassy as the target.

Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20. The embassy should have been closed.

Indications are that it lies right at two doors...the CIA, and the State Department.

That with our government, truth isn't the option. They went out of their way to keep things from the public because they worried how they would look. That is shameful.

And damn it! Why the hell do they get to selectively chose what they want to release?! In the name of all that is holy, just release everything you have. I dont care how many thousands of emails/docs there are. Release them so we can know the damn truth!
Perhaps because we don't want members of Al-Qaeda to know what we know.

One of the exchanges in the emails was over whether or not the CIA knew who did the attack. It was asserted that perhaps the name of a specific group shouldn't be mentioned because if it was then there would be questions on how the CIA knew it was that group. Particularity since this was preliminary information, 4 days after the attack.

Everyone knew who did the attack.

But yes, it's possible that the CIA didn't want people to know that they knew what they should have been expected to know. Then they would be asked if you knew these guys were around why did you not do anything about it?

Well, if not the embassy shut down, at least the compound. Apparently there were too many CIA, oops, state workers at the annex to shut it down and they should have been given additional security. BUT, had they, maybe someone would have questioned the annex and what they were doing??? You know, that top secret, hush hush covert operation??

100 BS hand picked emails out of thousands.

Its not in the email it hasn't been since the 1990's.

Those emails were release for the obama psycophants and *******s so they can continue with their delusion that Dear Leader still loves them and will make everything better.

When you say "CIA" it appears that John Brennan, the current CIA Director, had a heavy hand in the exchanges and revisions. If I recall there are only two that mention Petreaus as a sender or recipient. When they sent him the final draft for his approval and his response.
Of course, if White House released a condensed version of the emails the accusation would be that the important information was in what wasn't released.

In my mind, its good that the complete chains were released because it indicates that the emails would have been located in multiple locations. Makes it harder to make the accusation that the content of the emails were changed prior to release.

Benghazi was a tragedy, no doubt about it but the real tragedy is the likely outcome is its description in history is more likely to be the result of whichever side lies more effectively than it is to accurately reflect the reality of what happened.
Here is Jay Carneys thoughts on it

ABC News Exclusive: Pat Tillman

White House press secretary Jay Carney issued this statement this evening:
"We have enormous respect for the service and sacrifice of Pat Tillman and his family. What they endured is a tragedy that should never be repeated. The circumstances surrounding Pat Tillman's death have been thoroughly investigated, and General McChrystal was found to have acted honorably despite the fact that this tragedy was mishandled. Still, General McChrystal has said that he deeply regrets the course of events that led to this incident and has apologized for his role, including during testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee. General McChrystal has rendered extraordinary service to this country during his decades in the military, and we honor not only that service but also his willingness to be part of an advisory board at the Center for a New American Security. He has a unique understanding of the challenges military families face every day, and is especially well positioned to help mobilize the private sector to help.”

................ummmmmmmm.................... so why were the first two days of emails NOT RELEASED?!

That is a smoking gun that shouts "guilty!" and shows that there is incriminating evidence they are still hiding.

It is now very clear the president is a liar, clinton is a liar and carney is either a liar or the worlds best patsy
