Once again the twits in Code Pink show a lack of manners by interrupting a President's speech...unless of course it was a planted outburst. How the heck does she get press credentials for a presidential speech?

"President Obama was interrupted by a Code Pink protester during his speech Thursday at the National Defense University in Washington. The interruption first came as the president called on Congress to allow for the transfer of detainees from the Guantánamo prison and persisted as the president attempted to continue his speech."

I guess the free pass for the last 4 years despite Obama keeping most of Bush's policies intact finally ended. Wonder what they got for their silence the last 4 years?

I LOVED it-much respect to her.

She stated she would have let the President speak if the speech was good- of course it was the same old, same old.

Did you notice how he incorporated her outburst into his closing remarks? Very classy of him to recognize our right to confront our president directly.

As an activist living in the D.C. area I have come to know Medea and members of Code Pink, they are wonderful people.
I was with Code Pink and other activists yesterday as we stood in protest outside the Gates where Obama spoke, we cheered when Medea spoke out and challenged the president on his policy.
All main stream media is owned by only a handful of corporations and we know the White House and congress is owned by the corporations, groups with leaders like Medea are the only way the truth gets out.
A couple of pics I took yesterday the rest can be seen at link below.

As much as I personally dislike Obama, he deserves respect when delivering a speech. One may not respect the man, but at least respect the office.

Your claim that Obama was not heckled is a lie. Anytime a Presidential speech is interrupted repeatedly with statements or questions it is heckling. Call it what you will, but don't lie to make a point.
Heckle:.....To try to embarrass and annoy (someone speaking or performing in public) by questions, gibes, or objections; badger.

A woman seeking her 15 minutes of fame,....because she is otherwise ignored.

As the OP stated, this could have been a plant by the White House to help Obama build his case for closing Gitmo. It's not beyond the realm of possibility, given the past antics of this administration.

I agree. It did appear that way to me. The pauses seemed rehearsed.
