Just wondering what makes Reagan the conservative darling. What great accomplishments of his do you admire?

This is what I see Reagan did during his presidency:

1. Reagan was a serial tax raiser.
Reagan “raised taxes in seven of his eight years in office.

2. Reagan nearly tripled the federal budget deficit.

3. Unemployment soared after Reagan’s 1981 tax cuts

4. Reagan grew the size of the federal government tremendously.

5. Reagan did little to fight a woman’s right to choose.

6. Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants.

7. Reagan illegally funneled weapons to Iran.

(yawn) another conservative-bashing thread from the usual suspects.....

You have to feel for the poor liberals. They are losing every election they try, huge. And now they have to go back thirty years to find someone to attack, and even then carefully leave out most of what he did.

So sad.

I don't idolize anyone but I thought he was a good actor.

You're making the mistake of assuming that conservatives idolize political figures. That's liberals. They love their rock stars, and they need their idols to worship.

Conservatives have respect for those who deserve it, that's all.

The funniest part? Those liberals are now begging for help from conservatives (with thread like this one) in bashing them!

The leftists extremists are reaching the end of their rope. Awwwww....

I am giving you a chance to boast about the great accomplishments of Reagan. Where did I bash him? Apparently, you have nothing good to say about Reagan so instead you spew insults for no reason. Great post.

LOL!! Conservatives don't even know why Reagan is the model of the Republican party.

Quote:
Mike Stark from the Daily Kos recently called in to Rush Limbaugh’s radio show, to ask him why modern-day conservatives idolize Reagan. After Stark gave several examples of things that Reagan did that modern-day conservatives would oppose, Limbaugh was at a loss for words as to why Conservatives idolize Reagan.

What are you talking about? Reagan is worshiped like the 2nd coming of christ by the right wingers. Just saying his name makes the clouds part and the heavenly angles start singing to them.

The topic is a great question, why do the right wingers love Reagan so much even though he was a huge government, huge spending, granter of amnesty to illegals?
