that is the goal of Obama-care. Homo-facist ex congressional rep from Mass. even said it was.
Single payor would doom this country. I never understood the logic of the left that "one size fits all".

It wouldnt doom the country either. Government already mandates reinbursement rates and has for decades. Taxes would go up of course, but people would stop paying insurance premiums.. it would probably have little effect on the economy.
If it does boom the economy, its only because it will undo the damage done by Obamacare, such as limiting part time employees to less than 30 hours a week..

Sure it would be a boon. After all, confiscating even more money from middle class Americans in order to provide them with substandard health care is sure to be a good thing...

Yeah, Canada's economy is really in the toilet. And while not "single payer"... more socialized medicine plans in Europe and elsewhere are doing well....Germany, Japan....they're just awful places to get sick, right?!
Face it: A business owner having to coordinate health plans for its employees is expensive and unwieldly.
Better to pay that same amount (or even less) in an increased health tax. No more legacy healthcare costs dragging companies down.
The long term effects also include a healthier workforce. And, it creates a more dynamic workforce, as people do not chain themselves to jobs and occupations solely because of "good health benefits."
Of course, nothing prevents a private system right along side a public system. But in this country where a huge % of bankruptcies are health-bill related, and where people die needlessly because of catastrophic illness they can't pay for, you'll excuse me when I laugh in your face when you make baseless accusations that a single payer system is "substandard."
America has the best healthcare system in the world.... IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. Most can't, as most healthcare plans are crap, and any profit in the healthcare insurance system is WASTE.
First we have to stop lying about health insurance. If you have health insurance through your employer, then the government is spending money/subsidizing that employer giving you health insurance.
If the government took away that spending/subsidy, your employer wouldn't provide health insurance.
There is no delineation between the so called free loaders and everyone else.
You are not paying the full cost of your employer provided health insurance that means everyone who has employer provided healthcare is a freeloader as well.
The government is spending/subsidizing your employer provided health insurance. You are getting a government benefit that millions of workers don't get.
Also, millions of people will sign up for health insurance. Pretending otherwise is just silly.
Also what is meant by young people? Young adults thanks to the ACA can now stay on their parents insurance up to age 26.

Have you been ignoring world news for the past year? The European economy is in the toilet. Explain the disparity between your statement and reality, please. Hard to say that single-payer is a boon for the economy when the countries that have a single-payer system are dealing with crumbling economies, isn't it?
