Link: US spy agencies mining data from nine internet giants: Report

Holy cow!

Quote:
The programme extracted e-mail, photographs and other private communications from some of the biggest Internet companies, according to the Washington Post.

The agencies got access to the central servers of nine major firms, including Microsoft, Apple, Google, Yahoo and Facebook, the newspaper reported Thursday, citing a detailed briefing presentation document on the programme, called PRISM.

The programme has been running since 2007 and has undergone "exponential growth" since then, the Post reported.

And you all laughed at those conspiracy sites that said the government was recording everything you do.

And yet another "conspiracy", "tin foil hat" item that turns out to be true.

I'm not laughing any more. They were right.

What else are they right about?

Anyone with a smidgen of a brain knew it was happening. But the toe suckers and leg humpers will still either deny or make excuses.

I try to read GlobalResearch (about NWO), Infowars, Above Top Secret to see what the current chatter is about. When issues hit the MSM I sometimes go back and read further what they were saying.

Here's an interesting one that goes back some years.
In many cases current ones cannot be proven true because the government hasn't admitted or released or declassified their paperwork on this.

Hoover sought and got permission to follow and wiretap MLK's every move/sound.

FBI tracked King's every move - CNN.com
The FBI's interest in King intensified after the March on Washington in August 1963, when King delivered his "I have a dream speech," which many historians consider the most important speech of the 20th century. After the speech, an FBI memo called King the "most dangerous and effective Negro leader in the country."
..
Kennedy gave the FBI permission to break into King's office and home to install the bugs, as long as agents recognized the "delicacy of this particular matter" and didn't get caught installing them. Kennedy added a proviso -- he wanted to be personally informed of any pertinent information.
..
When King learned he would be the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, the FBI decided to take its harassment of King one step further, sending him an insulting and threatening note anonymously. A draft was found in the FBI files years later. In it the FBI wrote, "You are a colossal fraud and an evil, vicious one at that." The letter went on to say, "The American public ... will know you for what you are -- an evil, abnormal beast," and "Satan could not do more."

I'm more amused than anything else.

"I can't believe the government is looking at my Facebook page!" Really? You're shocked that the things you actively make public, are then looked at?

I got news for you, companies like that are compiling far more info on you than the government is interested in, and they're selling it for a profit. Want privacy? Watch what info you give to data-mining corporations.
