Is the media afraid to report?

That's the difference, Obama supporters blindly support him and they are rightfully called the uninformed. If MSNBC and other media outlets did there job we would have known about this long ago.

[R]eporters have shared with me privately that some of their most trusted sources within government are increasingly afraid to speak with them, even off-the-record, for fear that they will be monitored and surveilled,” Thomas Drake, a former senior executive of the National Security Agency and a whistleblower who was prosecuted by the Obama administration, told The Daily Caller in an exclusive interview.

“That’s self-censorship,” he said.

Drake explained to TheDC that he sees a “soft tyranny” enveloping the United States through the federal government’s targeting of journalists and their sources.

I doubt it. Maybe less though if a Republican was president.

Fear is the easiest way to control people. It's how an abusive man controls his wife. Remember how fear was used in the presidential campaign. The Obama campaign was an extremely negative campaign.

Yep. He is currently guilty of it. Just like his predecessors were guilty of it, Dem and Repub both. Just like Romney would be had he been elected.

This isn't a partisan issue. It goes way beyond that.

So what are you suggesting should be done about it?

I keep hearing from one side that our taxes should be raised. Do you think it's responsible to dole out more money to support Federal programs or should we just all agree to have monitors in our homes and make it cheaper in the long run?

Do you think anyone will wake up over this and think perhaps the Gov't isn't "taking care of us" in a way that is in our own best interest?

Do you think people will start realizing the media isn't being an affective watchdog and may be part of the problem?

I'm curious as to what you think the answers are.

Yes, your post was very helpful. Especially if you come from a family of sheepherders. Really???

They are being intimidated by the administration.
You hear these one off stories of exclusion to certain events by the administration.
I guess the one most remember is when Fox was denied access back in early 2009 and the entire Press Corps stood with them until the administration backed down and let Fox participate.

Intimidation and connections at the top.
Just recently the NYT changed an editorial about Obama's credibility and added a word to limit their opinion to a single issue. Now how do you think that came about ? Maybe a few phone calls placed at high levels ?

Note that this leaker of the NSA court order went to the UK Guardian, not any US MSM companies.
