I find Target's new commercial, entirely in Spanish, featuring the ula ula song, disturbing. I turned on the closed caption option on my tv and I read the Spanish lyrics, but they are meaningless to me. Does this commercial bother anyone else?
You are easily bothered.
Actually it's an English commercial with Spanish music.
In my area our local cable company runs ads in Spanish with no English translation. WTH? When did native English speakers become insignificant. This isn't Mexico but the U.S. and the majority of us speak English. I am glad I have dish network.
How does the inclusion of Spanish make English insignificant? Watch people from across the globe being interviewed, and the reporters never have a problem finding people who speak English; it's almost become a global language, as Latin once was. Several states have Spanish names, and we all use Spanish words like corral, rodeo, margarita and barbeque regularly. It's only a problem if you make it one.
I can understand it perfectly. What you people dont think in more than one language?
So sad for you. Maybe you should have paid better attention to your churros y chocolate assignments en sus escuelas.
Don't make me get all spanglishy on your arses.
"Do you wana sheesee"
Why the hell should we learn a foreign language? What for? If one doesn't plan on working in the tourist industry it is of no use. Face it, it's only Spanish being shoved down our throats in our country. How many of these Spanish speaking immigrants knew English while in their own countries? Come on, let's not be a hypocrite here. Besides, most Hispanic-Americans know English so we already that common language to communicate with them in and afterall it is the language of THIS country.
Didn't you claim in another thread that you had Mexican conservative friends? But now you're disgusted by "ethnic" people in a commercial. Based on the other ignorant, racist, vitriol that you normally post, it was obvious that those Mexican friends of yours were made up to try to prove your point. But you should at least make an attempt to keep track of your own lies.
