You have to love how what Cosby wrote is spun by Breitbart. Cosby titled his column "A plague called apathy".
I'm pretty sure Cosby wasn't arguing that we should all convert to Islam, nor do I think he was promoting Black Muslim values in general. He was just pointing out how seriously they as a group take personal responsibility for their own lives and the lives of their families. Anecdotally, they appear to have had success in protecting themselves from the destructive drug and alcohol scourge that is rampant in so many communities.

None of them read the article. They just had the typical circle knee-jerk response to it. Cosby makes a lot of valid points in the complete article, not the cut-and-paste job offered by the OP.
Unfortunately the usual suspects more than likely won't read it.
Christianity has become too permissive you have priests advocating gay marriage for example. I can see the appeal of Islam. It's clear about what it is about and makes no apologies.

Muslims don't allow liberal forces to intrude on the basic family structure. Family name and shame are real. A Muslim family whose daughter got knocked up out if wedlock would see the marriage fortunes of the rest of the family diminish.

People are too lazy to get into the weeds these days.

Meh, it's a bunch of hypocrisy no different than Christianity.
We found out within days that the pious 9/11 terrorists were drinking alcohol and watching porn.
They use the faith to basically hold down women and children, while the men participate in all the same debauchery as the rest of the world.
Hell, parts of just about anything, can be found that are good.
Or is Cosby saying that modern liberalism is SO bad, that even Islam is better?
There are no good parts of it. None.
If you remove any of it, the rest of it crashes down because it's built on nonsense.
What you consider the good parts of it can be found in any decent human philosophy, not just Islam. You think Muhammad dreamed up anything in that faith that's salvageable? No, it existed before he wrote it.
