Russian Journalist/Lesbian Masha Gessen speaks openly about eradicating marriage.

She states:
"Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie. The institution of marriage is going to change and it should change, and again I don't think it should exist."

Why not comment on the video and whether you believe she is correct. Obviously, she doesn't speak for all homosexuals, but I'm curious if others agree?

It is her opinion. She is not some elected official speaking on behalf of all homosexuals.
She does not speak for me, in fact I had never heard of her until you started a thread about her.

Her opinion and I don't agree with it either. I'm sure the OP's honest curiosity is now satisfied.

She is expressing her opinion, I don't agree but I don't see what the problem is. She doesn't represent all gays any more than the Westboro baptists represent for all Christians.

Unless you are just trying to pick one person with an unpopular opinion in an attempt to show how evil them gays are with an association fallacy. It's like using Hitler, a dog lover, to say anyone who owns a dog wants to exterminate the Jews and plunge Europe into war. Any way you slice it that kind of demonization is just flat out disgusting.

I don't see how allowing gays getting married affects others marriage. Any more than I think my diet is affected if some one a block over eats 3 pounds of bacon every day, or east only 500 calories a day. It's their life, their choice. Being obsessed with how other people live their lives in unhealthy, go and live your own.

I really believe that homosexual "marriage," will seek to destroy the institution of marriage. This is nothing more than a sad attempt to mock God, by eradicating the natural order of society. Men become women, and woman become men, bad becomes good and good becomes bad.

This has nothing to do with equality, it's about destruction of traditional family values.

Marriages in the Bible:

There's a number of things in the Bible people don't do. You don't see people protesting (or claiming the word of god) about wearing clothes of more than one type of fiber to make it illegal (Leviticus 19:19), or clipping your hair/beard (Leviticus 19:27), or making tattoos illegal (Leviticus 19:28), or eating fat (Leviticus 3:17, which makes Chick-fil-A's business un-Biblical)...but it seems the Bible is only the word of god that's literally true to fundy loons when it comes to homosexuality.

It's using the Bible to hate.

So, I will peg you as a conservative. That would be fair, right?

Don't you find it a bit hypocritical that you are using as a source a country your side vilified for decades?
