Child (definition)- a person who has not attained maturity or the age of legal majority.
Which suggests that if they have attained maturity but not legal majority, or vice versa, they cannot be called a child.
Maturity, in this context, suggests the capacity to bear children. To refer someone capable of bearing or fathering a child as a child is absurd.
The age of legal majority is arbitrary; it could just as easily be 12 or 35 as 18, so that isn't much help in determining a definition that's relevant in a sexual context. (What connection does voting have with copulation?)
I hope to send emails to both the "Miss USA" and "Miss Universe" organizations, telling them to place these under-age minors in the "Miss Teen USA" and "Miss Teen Universe" pageants.

Because it was an active issue at the time, and because keeping the age from being raised where it's lower seemed like a more modest and realistic effort than calling for it to be lowered where it's higher.
Seriously? A swimsuit competition? Taping dresses to your body? Isn't America better than this? How can a country that is so "Pro women's rights." make them into display pieces to be ogled by old men on national TV? This is ridiculous. Please, America. No more boobs.
