"The idea that utter political correctness must govern even some fluffy network like the Food Network is a bad sign. Paula Deen is not an ideologue. She is a very ordinary woman who has overcome the very sorts of obstacles which leftists prattle endlessly about overcoming: a poor and uneducated woman who got out of a bad marriage and, on her own, became a success."
Bruce excoriates the Left and Food Network sock puppets for their hypocritical "political correctness," and for allowing this leftist disease to metastisize and enter into an area such as cooking and enjoyment of good food, which should be an area that brings people together.

He reports that Paula Deen fans are pushing back.
BRAVO! Great job, Bruce! Well said!
She is not a very ordinary woman. She has multi-million dollars endorsement contracts. Those entities chose to sever ties with Miss Deen; Not lefties. Lefties have no endorsement contracts with Miss Deen.
What is happening to Miss Dean is between her and her employers...Leave "lefties" out of it.

Why is everyone blaming the 'lefties' for this? Are we the executives at Food Network, Target, Wal-Mart, QVC, Home Depot, etc. etc that actually fired this woman? Really, most people just aren't that worked up about it one way or the other.
She needs to fire her PR/crisis management team. I believe her recent rounds of television interviews sped up her demise with those who matter - her corporate sponsors. Job Creators.
I believe her FN show was losing viewers long before this.
My guess is that every top executive at all the companies that have elected to no longer do business with Paula Deen have themselves made a racist remark at some time within the past 30 years. It would be most interesting to find witnesses, and prove just how hypocritical all these people (companies) are. Personally, I think she has grounds for suing all of them. 30 years ago? Give me a break!!!
We must ask every black person who is employed by a television network if they ever used the cracker word to be fair.. at least Paula Deen was honest. I give her credit there..
What ever happened to honesty is the best policy.. not in the liberal world. . The dems lie at every turn for they can't tell the truth. They want to pretend they are squeaky clean.

Is there anyone here that still believes this is about one word uttered 30 years ago? It's not.

you're right. it's about political correctness and how out of control it is. it's also about the double standard that exists when it comes to issues of race, and what can and can't be said.
