If there was a DEMOCRATICALLY elected president... does the military have a right to take over the entire government before the president is allowed to finish his/her term? No matter how much I dislike a president, they have their entire term to finish.. so should the military have ANY say in politics or should the military be strictly to defend against the outsiders and provide ONLY humanitarian aid to its citizens...

If it's outside of the US then it seems people are OK with it because "petitions and polls" say so.
We have Congress meeting to decide if it was a coup. Maybe they will redefine what a coup is so the money can keep flowing.

Just remember the military in Egypt is powerful and is bankrolled by the US.

If we come out and say it's not really a coup then it's not a coup..right ?

The military being used only to defend against outsiders?

WHAT a novel concept!

The US should consider that idea.

Well....overthrowing the government means you throw everything out and start over with a brand new government--not just new leaders--that creates new laws and a new constitution.

This is the difference between the USA and other countries. Our elections happen and cannot be overturned except by impeachment. We just suck it up and wait it out and hope to do better the next time around.

Obama won't even say the word "coup" and Congress is meeting to decide if a coup even happened in Egypt.

It was a military coup, plain as the nose on your face.

Thank God for that. At least we are civilized about it.
Right now the Army in Egypt is shooting down Morsi sympathizers that are protesting the coup.
