and the world wonders ..... what is he thinking? Get this man a newspaper so he can read about all the crisis areas in the world.

Egypt is imploding - Kerry ignored it when he was in Israel last week.
Iraq is imploding - the death toll rises every week.
Jordan is in perial
Syria is in the middle of a Civil War, the US has promised aid that has not arrived and the Butcher of Damascus is continuing his slaughter of his people - 100,000+ dead so far.
Things are not going well with Russia
We have a NSA former employee that is shopping US Intelligence around the globe if he can find a landing place.
Turkey is in turmoil

and yet .... Kerry doesn't seem to be aware of any of that. He is focused like a laser on the most crucial problem facing the world and the USA today - Talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians broke down (for the bizillionist time in the last 50+ years) in 2010 and he must "fix" that immediately - if not sooner. This will be John Kerry's 6th trip to Israel since he took office 4 months ago.

Did I mention his wife went to the Hospital tonight and is listed in serious condition?

The Washington Post is "scratching their head"
Quote:
THE INTENSE focus of Secretary of State John F. Kerry on the long-moribund Israeli-Palestinian peace process when neighboring Egypt is collapsing into chaos and Syria’s civil war rages unabated provokes more than a little head-scratching among diplomats from the Middle East. What, they ask us, could possibly possess Mr. Kerry to so intently pursue such an unpromising initiative, even as the United States refuses to exert leadership on crises of paramount importance to the region?
And the New York Times is reporting a total disconnect ....
Quote:
The New York Times reported on Secretary of State John Kerry’s preoccupation with the stagnant Israeli-Palestinian peace process, even as neighboring Egypt, Syria, and Turkey plunge into turmoil.

Brian Katulis of the Center for American Progress, normally a reliable advocacy group for the Obama administration’s foreign policy, noted the disconnect:

Mr. Kerry has made it clear that he will not give up his peacemaking quest. But analysts said that the gravity of the crisis in Egypt would force him and other senior officials to shift their attention to Cairo, where American policy, some say, has failed to keep up with events.
These Washington elite are way too focused on their "Legacy", while the world flames around them.

Agreed. There are more things pressing than the stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.

I agree about the legacy and they sure won't get from the Arab spring so they need that peace accord.

Keeping our very own Pit Bull on the leash is very important. Without our control those crazy Zionists would simply nuke any possible threat within their reach.

Whatever Mr. Obama or Mr. Kerry do, they will receive criticism from the other Party. If Mr. Kerry didn't go to Israel, this post would be something like, 'violence in the Middle East and Kerry stays home instead of coordinating with allies.'

I hope the State Dept. knows he is on this trip. If asked by reporters where Kerry is the State Dept. won't lie first, right?

I'll go off on tangent and say its possible that the US is making a deal with Israel to evacuate Russians from Syria through Israel to the ocean. This way Russia will owe someone a favor.
http://en.rian.ru/world/20130501/180939020.html

On another front, Kerry is starting to make back door deals to supply Jordan with gas from Israel since Egypt is blowing up the pipelines again. For now Jordan is stable, but its hitting its limits with Syrian refugees and gas cutoffs.
http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/Africa/Gas-pipeline-between-Egypt-Jordan-bombed/Article1-1088833.aspx

As to the Israel-Palestine issue, Kerry knows its a dead issue as long as Abbas is President for life and will not come to the table without any pre-conditions. These BS meetings are just cover for other things and the media jumps every time the word Palestine is stated but remains unresponsive to everything else in the ME.

As to the money Egypt gets each year, Kerry will need to find a violation of the Israel-Egypt Treaty to cut them off. Egypt becoming a democracy on any level is not part of the US part of the Treaty. McCain standing on his soap box yelling cut them off is of no help to anything without stating what violation was done.

Does he have a new honey there? Probably a cute, shapely gal, in the service of her country. He would be ripe for that type of espionage, with a sick wife.

Wasn't one of the incessant GOP snivelings that the Obama admin wasn't spending enough time with our special Israeli friends? You can't win with these people.

Yeah, really.

When did conservatives start getting uptight about Obama kissing Israel's ass?

Geez...you can't win with these people.
