America can send whom we choose. He is our Ambassador...not the recieveing Nation's. How dare any nation oppose who we as Americans choose to represent us.

Would we back down if the Germany People opposed our Ambassador if he were a Jew?
[hypothetical senario...im quite sure the German people would not object]

Interesting. How important is an ambassador? They can just reject him and keep him out of their country, right? Or just ignore him.

So what? His angle is to keep tradition and the family unit alive and well in this country. Everybody has an agenda, what's yours, to stifle opinion? If you don't like what he has to say, ignore his threads. Your problem is easily solved.
How about addressing the topic?

I'm sure in 1936 Germany they would object. I would be curious to the question of Gay Ambassador to Muslim countries

Love it!

Drudge is widely whispered to be gay. "I go to bars", Drudge once explained. "I go to straight bars, I go to gay bars.[1]

Yeh, would be much better to send a proud man known to commit domestic violence, make babies out of wed lock, then not support em, maybe a little date rape on the side. Nothing wrong with a criminal record too, know what um sayin? They'd probably welcome him with open arms.

Yes, it is about qualifications for the job. He probably does not have a problem with straight people. Therefore, they should not have a problem with his sexual preference.

It is called being a mature adult and realizing that people have a right to their own beliefs and preferences. If they think they should be a "clone" of themselves, that is truly pathetic. They should simply want a qualified ambassador..end of story.

By the way, Dominican Republic is not an anti gay place. There are night clubs and support groups all over that side of the island.
I am pretty sure most of the people from the dominican republic are basically black!
