Apparently you for making such a broad leap.... What I was saying is, the length of the fight is irrelevent. One punch is fully capable of killing someone or causing permanent brain injury..
Many people don't understand that (or don't want to acknowledge it).
What "vile" things are being posted about Zimmerman? Because I can tell you there are posts talking about standing on Trayvon's grave, calling him a thug, etc.
I find it interesting that the folks who want to harp on Trayvon's (non-violent) past don't want to talk about Zimmerman's (violent) past. Somehow his past is excused while Trayvon's speaks to his depraved character.
Because it wasn't Trayvon (the aggressor) who was acting in self-defense.
At this point, your entire post became bulls***. You suddenly put TM in a position that now he chooses to go out of his way to confront GZ? What would the NEN recommendation have been if TM called them FROM THE STREET, where he actually was? Probably to do what he did -- escape.
That's basically what the prosecution's star witness said.
His neighborhood had suffered a number of recent burglaries and he wanted to catch a suspicious person whom he thought might be one of the burglars. So he left the car to go look for the suspicious person. It's not illegal nor immoral.
...And if someone had broken into his car and stolen the gun and then shot someone else with it, would we be asking why he hadn't taken the gun with him?
He had a concealed carry permit. It made perfect sense to take the gun with him. In this case, it may have saved his life or saved him from becoming a vegetable.
The context is different. Zimmerman wanted to investigate a suspicious person. In contrast, Martin's intention was to commit murder or serious bodily harm.
It's not his job to "catch" anyone. You wait for the police to apprehend a suspect. Let's say Trayvon was the burglar they'd all been looking for. Zimmerman had no authority to detain/arrest him, so just stand back and let the cops do their work.
re: the gun. That is so silly, I can't even...
From your final standpoint, I can see there's no having a reasonable discussion with you...
Why didn't Martin call 911 and say, I'm being followed by a creepy cracker? Why didn't Martin run? Why didn't he just go home and lock the doors? I'm not dismissing Zimmermans actions that could have prevented the situation, I am saying it took two not so bright people to create this situation...
I find your entire argument extremely far-fetched.
Let me put it this way: If congress unanimously voted to legalize all drugs tomorrow, the crime and murder rate, this time next year, would remain unchanged.
Again, yes or no: Are the crimes you seem to love to dwell on largely drug related?
It's okay to admit you're wrong; some even find it character building. You should try it.

What about a citizen's arrest?
