The small town of Deerfield, Colorado is considering putting out a bounty on drones after several local ranchers spotted one flying overhead.
$100 would be offered to anyone who brings in the tail and fuselage from an unmanned aircraft.
I think this is an idea whose time has come, and the residents of towns and counties outside of Colorado should start offering bounties on drones as well. Colorado ranchers need help protecting our rights under the Fourth Amendment.
Personally, I'm going out right now and buying a 12 guage and a hunting license.
"If you don't want your drone to go down, don't fly it in town."
Do you have some unusual mental condition that makes you want to shoot at any of them?
Then certainly you wouldn't object to me setting up a surveillance camera over your house would you? I promise I'll only use the data and images collected to protect you.
I know little about drones, but don't they fly pretty high? I thought that was their purpose: to fly so high as to be virtually impossible for ground-based viewers to see.
Even if a domestic drone only flew, say, one or two miles high, what would you shoot it with?

Good point, and we've been under satellite surveilance for years already.
You think shooting down a drone is like shooting a model airplane? You have no idea... the drones fly faster than you can turn your head or pull a trigger...
