I do too. I can see now how people just walk by when they see a crime go down because they don't want to be involved, it's not their job etc. If somebody who can't swim is falling in deep water, yelling for help, I'm just gonna watch them drown while calling 911. After all I'm not a trained life guard.
I rather live in a world where people help each other.

You an me both. Moreover, I can't stand these sanctimonious and self-righteous people who view everyone as incapable unless they are a specialist in the field.

Logic and common sense. It is how everything should work.

It is almost like they PLANNED to kill these children with their rules and regulations.

And this is why you will never be employed at a childcare facility. They don't want people who use what is your own highly subjective definition of "common sense." They want people who follow rules that are made for a reason.

End of story.

One time in college I was really early for a class and the only person in the room when I heard glass shatter from somewhere close inside the building. I went out to investigate and noticed that a beaker in the class across the hall had fallen off a ledge from the wind. I went in the room to shut the window and the air pressure caused the door to shut behind me locking me in.

I don't have a dog in this fight but if something like that would have happened to her the kids would have been left alone...in theory.

Luckily for me this was on the first floor and my dumba$$ just climbed out the window.

I'll tell you what would happen. The same people here who are right now calling for the owner's head would instead be calling for the caregiver's head. Suffice to say: they would be calling for someone's head.

I think she was fired for leaving a room full of children unattended. The owner may have had some discretion regarding this, or may not have. Daycare centers are required by state law to have insurance, and to follow state guidelines. State guidelines and insurance policies BOTH require that children in daycare centers be supervised by adults at ALL times. So the owner may have felt that, in order to comply with the law, that the employee had to be fired. Even if nothing happened to the children, a parent could sue the daycare center and have their license revoked in a court.

And this is the type of idiocy that kills plenty of people and also, for an analogy, makes for good litle religous soldiers of stupidity - ex. thou shall not steal (this is of course is an absolute rule) but what if you had to steal to save a life or prevent harm or what about thou shall not lie - would you tell the Nazis that you were hiding Jews if they asked - Hmmmm!

The professioanl public servants and managerial staff sit around drawing rules 1/2 the day long while the other 1/2 they seek how to extract $$$ from real public servants in order to keep making more rules pontificating from their armchair-ivy-league-tower-education that they have claculated all the possible circumstances and matrices of life (something which takes great skill and education that the masses don't have but surely need) that must be defended and enforced at all cost otherwise they might look foolish and unecessary.

No. I assume nothing except that it is unknown and I am going to evacuate my charges. You assume you can fly in like Superman and if it goes wrong, too bad, the kids are on their own.
