If those people are being paid for to provide for services by the consumer, then thats not really socialism, is it? Thats a pretty dumb comment there

The U.S. is a fiercely individualistic nation. The fact that we have any social programs is amazing considering the general sentiment of this country. I'm not judging that good or bad, just stating the reason why Socialism is a dirty word in the U.S.A. My personal view is a mixture of capitalism peppered with minor controls from government as a "safety net"; very similar to what we have now.

Depends on the project, but typically we would each take a part that we were most interested in or we simply divided it up so we each had a part to work on or we would work on each part together depending on the project.

People who do work for the greater good are going to be paid for their work, socialism isn't about slavery.

When you say that WE are the richest people in the world you must mean that WE have some of the richest people in the world. As a whole the average American doesn't have enough in reserves to keep them afloat for six weeks.

I don't think individualism and socialism need to contradict each other. Whatever the old form of socialism was, one doesn't have to stick to it literally. Old ideas have to be updated as well, just like everything else.
So, for instance I do not like the idea, either, that people are supposed to be like ants, all alike and the same. To the contrary people should do for a living what they want to do, what they have talent for, etc. It is a nonsense interpretation that everyone should do any job.
Having said that, I do think that people should be paid only based on the number of hours worked, not on the kind of job they do. I think it is an urban myth that people only work well if they see the dollar signs in their eyes. To the contrary, often well paid jobs only attract the wrong kind of people.

The answer to number two is simple. We recognize the Soft Tyranny of Socialism.

That's nice of you to say
I try to keep away from all radical ideologies. While I do feel a certain proximity to socialist and communist ideas, I would not vote for our communist party here because they seem utterly stupid, outdated and even dangerous. Their leader is way too nationalist, always talking about fighting this and that. Always demanding jobs from god knows who, refusing change but not providing alternatives on how to pay for the status quo, etc. He doesn't seem to have any idea of economic alternatives, no vision of a better, realistic future. His idea seems to be keeping as many workers as possible working in factories, producing mediocre stuff nobody really wants or needs.

I'm afraid companies can also become soft tyrants. Maybe it is just not as obvious as a dictator whose face you see every day on TV
