First off i realize this is fantasy and is never going to happen. The reality is we live in a culture that takes the criminals side and gives them a slap on the wrist instead of the harsh punishments they truly deserve.

If only women existed the world would be a near violent crime free utopia. Men commit the vast majority of violent crime. This gender difference is due to testosterone. Of course the great majority of men are not violent criminals. The non-criminals are more evolved, civilized, and superior to their more primitive, animalistic criminal counterparts. The non-criminal can handle his testosterone, the criminal cannot. By castrating the violent criminals they will lose their T and thus become gentle and docile..just like women who rarely get involved with violent crime.

Another benefit of castrating violent criminals is they won't be able to pass their violent, low impulse control, unevolved DNA to the next generation. The goal should be to wipe these traits out of the gene pool. This would go a long way to prevent future criminals from being born.

How would you ensure that innocent people do not get castrated? The problem is, we have an imperfect system of determining guilt or innocence, and we sometimes incarcerate the innocent or liberate the guilty. Would you trust the government and its police/prosecutors/judges to have that kind of power over you?

is this supposed to be some sort of joke? you live in a paranoid society with such convoluted laws that anyone can be considered a criminal. just look at the ridiculously high incarceration rates. harsher penalties for criminals? i got a better idea: stop creating so many criminals to begin with

The crime rate - violent or non-violent is due to drugs.

The War on Drugs should be abolished.

That alone would reduce our prison population dramatically overnight.

Liberal Democrats started the War on Drugs and they continue to expand it.

Those who bring up the war on drugs are ignoring that there are some real hardcore violent criminals out there...the type on death row. The type on MSNBC locked up shows. Many/most are not in prison for drugs.

The people who Lockup focuses on may not be there for drugs - but most state and federal prisoners are there for drug crimes.

As are the majority of jail inmates.

Perhaps chemical castration would be a solution. If someone later found innocent the treatment would stop.

No. Accepting the status quo of having this high level of violent crime is unacceptable. Something must be done. Your idea of releasing the druggies will not make a dent in solving this problem.
