The fairness doctrine is, and has been, irrelevant since Ronald Reagan abolished it. If the fairness doctrine was still in effect, Fox News couldn't exist.
NBC will not be a major loss. They are as left as they come (except maybe Al Jazera US) Most right wingers would watch Fox/FNC anyway. CNN, is a more middle of the road option so it can be a loss. I find CNN for the most part as fair as any news network. I'd say they are left but they are fair to the right and unfair enough to the left when they need it (except the Weiner issue where there hasn't been much "he should resign from the race talk" but rather "he has a sexual disorder that needs to be rectified.") I think CNN should air this documentary either A when Hillary is out of the race or B when the Republican nominee is named. PBS aired a good documentary piece on BOTH Obama and Romney last October that gave the candidates equal time. Doing a Hilary documentary while no other nominee is official is not giving equal time unless CNN plans to run bios on ALL candidates for the democratic ticket and the republican ticket as well.
You should watch the CNN field report on the Tea Party. The one where the people were smiling and cheerful and standing a respectful distance away from the camera, where the interviewees were unfailingly polite and calm and offered straightforward and considered answers to the woman's questions. She then capped off the piece by saying how afraid she was being there and that there was an undercurrent of violence.
Now that's just one reporter talking, however CNN's management chose to air the piece. So I do not consider CNN to be fair and middle of the road.
I'll bet no one can beat her if she runs. Except Christie. But the Pubs are too dumb to nominate anyone that could beat her.
Don't be so sure. If Hillary was such a shoe-in, NBC wouldn't have to be starting this early trying to create some imaginary image of her. This mini-series is all about trying to make this incompetent woman into something she isn't.
Why have a mini-series as though she's part of history? We can observe right now what a horrible job she did as Secretary of State, and many of us remember her role in NAFTA and the export of American jobs, as well as her defense of a sexual predator because she is that power-hungry that she would go on the attack of his female victims.
The fact that they've selected a pretty actress to play Hillary shows what this is all about. This looks almost more like political desperation.
She's been hideous all her life. Make no mistake about that. Her hideousness also extends way beyond just looks.
Well when she was younger she wasn't the worst looking woman in the room but over the years the ugly on the inside has crept to the outside. And you can place me firmly in the who cares camp.
Yeah, I get it, but it's a stupid, stupid threat. What's with the RNC? So NBC makes a movie of Hillary. IMO most people have their minds made up about her, who cares about a tv movie.
It would just give the blogosphere something to mock her with. It's impossible to make her a saint, and we would have a blast dissecting all the goodies they left out. Bring on the Hillary bio-pic, by all means put her life on the tube.
And RNC, this is why I don't donate to you wimps anymore.
Wow, who's going to play BJ Bill ? And what about Monica ??

The tea party is only treated fair on Fox News if anything. Many people look down on them, even republicans. Just because of how bare bones they want things. They really don't get everything and why the US has to have safety nets. They want to pay no taxes and have no benefits paid out. I think we need to have taxes and some safety nets and programs that encourage finding work, rather than extending unemployment.

Yes, and many say Reagan was too old when he became president, Hillary will be just as old in 2016 as Reagan was. There there is that severe head injury during the Benghazi ordeal -- she's mentally not in any shape to run the country.
But ---- who else do the democrats have? Oh, well -- there's Biden.

Oh we can have John Travolta reprise his role of Clinton, he portrayed in Primary Colors - he plays the sleaze well.
