There's a lot of talk these days about Medical Marijuana and that over 85% of the voters in America are for the legalization of Medical Marijuana.

But some say it's the "Devil's Weed" and that Medical Marijuana is just an excuse to let people get high and that it has 'No' medical value what so ever. What do you think?

However, there are those that say it is an ancient herb that has been passed down from generation to generation in which it was used to heal people. Is it really a healing tool? Is it really a tool to make the sick better?

Medical marijuana? The "devil's weed" people are keeping the medical researchers from doing what needs to be done with it. Its currently about in the stage of chewing a willow stick for relieving pain instead of asperin. Something is there but research needs doing. Way too many people are being helped but it could be a lot better.

I'm for it, especially if someone is actually dieing.
I've seen someone on comfort care given pretty much anything they want in terms of opiates.

The class 1 scheduling in the US is more political than scientific.

I don't know why anyone would object to medical marajuana. If it makes a really sick person feel less pain, then what's the harm?

You're right John F S, what's the harm. It's amazing that people would deny someone that needs it (or even to judge whether they do or not)..and even if you don't, that's still no reason to look down on any one wants to smoke it...it's natural, just like camomile tea... and no one can prove different...it being illegal is a huge travesty

Watch Sanjay Gupta's special on CNN Sunday night called "Weed." He's changed his position on medical marijuana, now that he has seen the very real good it can do.

New varieties have been developed with reduced THC (the part that gets you high) and increased cannabinol (the part with medical qualities.)

My dad was very right politically, very opposed to legalizing marijuana, until he was diagnosed with cancer, had surgery and chemo, and found out what a little pot could do to reduce his nausea and reduce his discomfort and pain during his final days. Before he died he said "We're crazy not to legalize this!"

For. I think it's insane that we prescribe all sorts of potentially dangerous pills when a natural substance could help people.

Exactly. So sorry about your dad. I've known so many people who have had to sneak around dealing with illness...they can have all the narcotics they want with a call to the doctor, but have to sneak weed?? It makes no sense to me.

I'm not a big smoker of anything, but I do not like prohibiting items either. If it will help even one person, then why make smoking a plant illegal? It is really all about protecting jobs, unions and big-money interests.
