Salon lay-out??? I wouldn't know what that is, because I started my boycott before the lay-out changes. I started when they started pushing the gay agenda.
How exactly are they doing that -- besides using Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson?
They got DeGeneres as the spokesperson, they ran the 'two daddies' ads etc, and now they are paying the price for their mistakes.
You must be deeply connected to former JCP shoppers to know that they are staying away because of some supposed gay friendly program.
JCP is in trouble because it has been badly run for many years now.
Lots of other gay friendly businesses seem to be doing well. How about Disney? They own Star Wars now. Do you think people won't watch Star Wars (old or future) because Disney parks are gay friendly?
Must be a really effective boycott, as no one here seems to have heard of it.
It is not an organized effort with people running around with bull-horns telling people what to do. The customers simply made a personal desicion to stop shopping at JCP. That's what I did.

Target sells gay pride t-shirts.
Walmart contributes to the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and has a special "gay & lesbian interest" section for DVDs on its website.
Sears advertises on LOGO, a gay cable channel.
Costco and Amazon endorsed same-sex marriage in Washington.

It has nothing to do with gays. The number of people who are as extremist as you is relatively small, so you really have little collective economic effect. JC Penney was already circling the drain long before they had anything to do with Ellen. They are simply out of touch with what the consumer wants.
I understand the spiritual angle that Finn is coming from, but 1) it's hard to prove that assertion to non-Christians especially when 2) many companies that embrace the lifestyle still profit.
God can definitely make life difficult at certain times.

Tell that to the JCP stockholders... The results speak for themselves.
