Straw man.

The US already lost long ago. Just because Bush made blunder after blunder, at every turn where the situation could have been improved doesn't mean it is the Democrats fault. It was an ill-conceived war, and at every point of the way, there were good decisions that could have been made, but weren't. You don't keep throwing money at something you can't win. While I don't favor immediate withdrawal, I do believe the situation could have been a whole lot better if diplomatic actions were taken 4 years ago, even 3 years ago. But every decision that was made, made things worse.

If the Democrats fail in this adventure, it is only because they were left holding a bag that was doomed when it was handed to them.

Now answer the original question.

You broke it, you fix it. However, looks like you are capable of breaking ONLY not fixing.

This government will pay for this war the same way it paid for the Vietnam War. They will inflate the currency to nearly no value and pay with the valueless dollars. The effect will be to pay off the war with our working class prosperity. They are Republican plutocrats! What the H*** did you expect.

Are you serious? Republicans are NOT the only problem, so are the Democrats who are all in favor of continuing the war. When asked point blank about their plans, Hiliary, Obama, and Edwards ALL said that the troops will still be there AFTER their first term (i.e. 4 YEARS!), that means they want to USE it again for the next term. How do Democrats AND Republicans plan to pay for the war? With our tax money of course, by INCREASING our taxes. I know Ron Paul has stated emphatically that there will be NO troop presence when he is elected. Vote Ron Paul Wooohooo!

Bill Richardson has said he will remove all our troops within the first year of his term. That is why I will most likely vote for him. He also seems to be the only Dem that has not completely sold out to the controlling wealthy.

In any case the debt will be paid for with depreciated dollars.

economically speaking.. this war is vietnam x10.....
when you start playing with the value of your currency.. especially when there are other stable and strong currencies in the world... you are playing with fire... sure national debt gets cured.. then you sink to a 2nd or 3rd world country.. because everyone needs a wheelbarrel to haul enough greenbacks to the store to buy groceries...
the laws of economics do not revolve around the US government policies.. not when it participates in a WORLD market...free fall of a currency is very real.. and to assume that the rest of the world is going to always be there to prop it up for the sake of maintaining an american market is a bit narcasistic.. especially when we see an emerging middle class in countries like india and china.. who are 30% of the world population.. vs our 5 percent...

chinese and europeans will be "sponsoring" children here in america... because "80 Euro cents a day (the cost of a cup of coffee) will be able to provide the needed healthcare and education for a starving neglected american child..." :P
