If you observe the outrageous level of violence, poverty and slaughter in Africa today (a mega-mineral and precious metal wealthy continent) is it any wonder we have the problems we have today? Why dont they go and exploit their wealth and lift themselves out of poverty and filth? Maybe they can't or dont want to?
Well, no doubt they're tired of all the messy conflict over there.
My bet is they're just waiting for a guy like you to go on over and straighten it all out.
So mining and diamonds are the whole reason why Africa is an underdeveloped cesspool. Thanks for that insight!
There are lots of reasons. Climate is one. Disease is another. So are badly-drawn borders, which when combined with tribalism make the formation of cohesive nation-states impossible. It's no accident that one of the most prosperous countries in sub-saharan Africa is Botswana, whose population almost all belongs to the same tribe. The same dynamic can be observed elsewhere, for example in the former Yugoslavia and northeastern India.
This is part of the problem right here. Perhaps blacks aren't into exploitation? Never knew that was a negative.
EVERYONE is into exploitation.
There's a difference between "not being into exploitation" and "not being able to exploit." The latter explains Africa's predicament, due to technological disadvantage. There are a couple of notable historic African empires and kingdoms which also show that exploitation and wealth extraction is something that has been engaged in by "blacks."
Now, it could be a CULTURAL thing for a people to not be "into exploitation," but to assign it along racial lines, as if there's some biological difference is just as bad as saying one race is inherently more violent because of biology.
Example: The Mongolians conquered, subjugated, murdered half of Europe and Asia... killing an estimated 60 million+ during and as a result of their conquests .... today, they couldn't conquer a neighbor if they tried. Is it a biological/race thing, or did their culture and values change?
