Conviction of Toledo man for stockpiling weapons began with the tracking of camisoles | cleveland.com

Quote:
Authorities in December nabbed 18 guns that included assault rifles, more than 40,000 rounds of ammunition and body armor from Schmidt, a felon who killed a man and wounded two other people in 1989.

Investigators also found possible links to white supremacist groups. He had a VHS tape of a national meeting of the National Socialist Movement and stickers from the National Alliance, according to an inventory of seized items filed in U.S. District Court in Toledo. Agents also obtained notes with the names of Jewish and NAACP leaders in Detroit.

[...]

His attorney [...] said Schmidt is neither a radical nor a monster.

"He's a survivalist; he had no intent to cause anyone harm,'' said Edward Bryan, a federal public defender in Cleveland. "His collection of firearms and ammunition was similar to his collection of other items. He believes that our society may collapse one day, and he had to be prepared for what would happen.''

The stockpile of guns, I would not mind owning a few guns myself. Having links to White supremacist groups or being in them is what scares me. The guns don't scare me. It's being a Neo-Nazi I would be more concerned about.

As far as I can see, the only thing they have him on is being a felon in possession of a firearm. Aside from that, they don't really have anything illegal... As for his "stockpiling of weapons", he has fewer than many on this site. if all he had was 40,000 rounds and 18 guns..

That's it? That's their brilliant hard core ties to "nazi" groups? Holy crap people will believe anything the MSM feeds them...wow
Like "ACORN must be destroyed" (it hasn't existed since 2010) and "The New Black Panthers perpetrated massive vote fraud" (all 6 of them)?

If some black Muslim felon had been caught with a big stash of weaponry and lists of Jewish and Republican leaders, this thread would be up to 300 posts by now.

Doesn't surprise me. I seem to be the only other person concerned about the fact that this guy is a Neo-Nazi.

One who was apparently planning for a racial holy war or something. I wonder if they also found a framed print of the "14 Words."

Isn't that the truth?

Stunning how they always try to minimize these sorts of events when perpetrated by a member of the majority.

The Neo-Nazis and the New Black Panther Party basically speak the same message of hate and violence. However, I've noticed more people scream when it comes to the NBPP. The Neo-Nazis are deadly too, and many stockpile weapons for it. I know about the 14 words.

It isn't surprising. It is the double standard and it has worked like this for years. I think the persons who try to write off this Neo-Nazi as a mere "gun collector" might be sympathizing with the Neo-Nazis deep down inside, and just not coming out and saying it.

Or just maybe the guy took seriously the definition of 'potential' terrorists, as defined by Janet Napolitano ... The same one who doesn't believe the word 'terrorists should apply to Muslim jihadists!

Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;

- Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;

- People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);

- Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;

- Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;

- People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.

The report also lists people opposed to abortion and “groups that seek to smite the purported enemies of God and other evildoers” as terrorists.

(everyone except Obamabots, it would seem
)

Or maybe he took the threats by an agent of the DHS seriously?
(some of you brought up race .. Well?)
