You have to get rid of religion so that social reform is accepted.

I have no dog in this fight.
They can change the laws all they want and it won't affect me and my beliefs.
I have my line in the sand and when they want me to cross it I will refuse.

Yeah, yeah..I know what folks will say..."If you don't like it then leave".
Yes that is what I guess I will do as I don't want to be a criminal for following my religious beliefs.
The problem is newer generations being pulled away from those beliefs on PURPOSE! All these lawsuits brought by atheist groups are nothing more than Fanatical Left wing activism.

Well yeah. The way to change a society is to go after the youth.
It takes time for true social change.

You have to fight the older ones but don't have to fight the youth if they are taught this from the beginning.

They should take "under G-d" out of it.

I think I'm the only one who dislikes the idea of the Pledge anyway. Under God or not.
I feel like if we saw video of children in other countries being told to swear their allegiance to the symbol of their country we'd all think it looked pretty disturbing.

I've mentioned my belief around my "right" friends, my "left" ones, my Christian friends and non-Christian friends and they all seem to be pretty appalled by my opinion on it, so I don't really expect to get a lot of "reps" on here for it just thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone does actually agrees with me.

Also, I know it's the "in" thing here to direct your posts toward "the other guys" but remember that atheists & the left wing are two separate things. Just like Christians & the right wing are.

Who is getting rid of religion? We just don't want any one religion governing the country. Also, why would you be a criminal for following any one religion? Who is trying to make religion a crime? Do you notice your own holes in your statements?

Well, either you guys believe in the US Constitution or you don't... Which one is it? Or do you only believe in the Constitution when it's convenient and/or serves your needs?

Must be some funky logic when those who are fighting to uphold the Constitution are seen as undermining the values of the US while those who object to the Constitution proclaim themselves patriots and true Americans.

Get rid of it. I'm an atheist and it's offensive to me. I don't want to hear or see anything about God anywhere in my life.

This, all of it, every single word. Bravo.

Ban the entire pledge from being said at school.
All because of one family.

Really ?

It's not removing the word "God", it's banning the entire pledge.

I guess it's all part and parcel of becoming a global citizen..allegiance to no one country.
