Not very good at linking on wife's iPad, but it is an easy google for verification. Two reasons given, ACA and the economy. Yes ma'm, this is one effective leader, Mr Obama.
"An Emory spokesman, Vincent Dollard, said the new health care law backed by the president played a role in the layoffs. Dollard added the economy was also a factor. "
"You have it, we want it!" is not a valid argument.
However, lefties feel that just because one has the means they should be coerced into giving it to others.
So I guess any time now any health care related company makes any job cuts, it's going to get blamed on the ACA? OK, since we know that's how it's going to play out now, I'll just ignore it going forward.
Emory Healthcare sent Byfield a statement saying, "To meet the needs of our changing patient population, we have developed a new care model to serve our psychiatric patients now and in the future. We will launch a new adult and geriatric psychiatry program focused on mood disorders, psychosis and other psychiatric disorders in November, 2013"
Looks like they are, because their psychiatry and rehabilitation services was woefully out of date and inefficient to the point of no longer meeting patient needs compared to national standards. No wonder the original article wasn't linked, it takes away from the Obamacare hate-fest.
At the end it also states their HR department is finding those people affected placement in other departments. So it's not really that they are being kicked to the streets, but moving to other departments.

Ouch...facts...gotta love em! Can't wait to see how the conservatives still try and spin this to get another ACA bash fest going.

Since when do republicans care about facts. Its not a fact unless they hear it from fox news
Obamacare pays for Reagans 1986 mistake. An unfunded national healthcare plan. Republicans have no memory of this, and when I bring it up, they ignore it like he did in this thread

This is a bit long--almost 49 minutes--but it's a good summary of what the ACA does, and doesn't, do. Bill does a good job of pointing out the benefits, as well as some of the flaws that still need to be fixed. I doubt any of our Conservative friends here will bother to listen to it, as it dispels all of their favorite myths and boogie-men, but if others reading here are truly interested in facts regarding this new law, this is a good place to start.

My objection to obamacare is that it forces private citizens to buy something as a tax. On a federal level mind you. Thats a scary precedent. But if we are going to keep the emergency healthcare provisions passed in 1986 and signed into law by Reagan, something was needed to make the uninsured pay for their treatment.
