Looks like we are not the only ones that reject the gay agenda. Germans are bigoted homophobes as well.

There is no gay agenda, just a christian agenda to defame gay people and make us look inferior. Bigotry and discrimination are not an American value and who gives a hoot what Germany and Chancellor Merkel thinks. All we gay people want is to be treated with respect and not derision by the moral majority.

I don't think anyone claimed that the US has a monopoly on homophobia. Homosexuality is punishable by death in several African nations. What's your point?

I get it. He saying, "Look, Germany hates gays too. Maybe we're OK!"

There is no Christian agenda. It's a religion with hundreds of millions of believers. If you truly want respect, then don't say things like that. There's no Christian agenda or Muslim agenda or Buddhist agenda or anything else. The Presbyterians are one of the main Christian denominations and they support gay marriage and gay ministers. The choirmaster of my local Presbyterian church here is openly gay. You don't earn respect by claiming there's a religious agenda out to get you. All that does is make Christians who aren't out to get you less favorably disposed towards you.

You aren't going to earn respect with comments like that one. Demonizing an entire religion doesn't make you sound respectable. Not all Christians are anti-gay any more than all Muslims are terrorists.

Inasmuch as Germans were gassing gays to death a generation ago, we must look on Merkel's remarks as progress for that nation.

America apparently not the only homophobic first world country

A phobia is an irrational fear, not normal revulsion to aberrant sexual practices.

So are you saying the US should aim to be more like Russia, and Germany?

It is an interesting turn, is it not? This clearly stated affection for dictatorial leadership.

In any event, the Chancellor can say whatever she wants, apparently the courts have already spoken (back in Feb.):
