Sick and very concerning. Sounds like he's trying to justify that deep down emotionally he enjoyed it. Sorry Dawkins that does not make it right. Seek help.

What BS. The right, or the GOP, is every bit 100% as invasive and intrusive into the private lives of citizens as the Democrats, and just as prone to censorship, etc.

Anyone who doesn't see this or won't acknowledge it is simply a myopic, hypocritical partisan hack imbecile.

Unless you've experienced it, you really have no idea what it can do to you. Richard Dawkins may not think being fondled is a big deal, but trust me...it is. It's a VERY BIG deal for those of us who have experienced it. It's devastating and life-changing. It follows you around for the rest of your life. You never forget it. You wonder who you can tell about it and who to keep it secret from. You don't want to tell everyone, but you want people close to you to know about your past. Sometimes you share it, and peoples' reactions are shocking and disappointing.

It's a big deal, and Richard Dawkins needs to ****.

Maybe he's a "mild" pedophile himself...maybe that's why he's said what he has....seems the only ones that defend it are the ones who practise it.

Personally I don't have a problem with porn, even though may social conservatives do. I'm not a social conservative. But then again, I also don't have a problem with handguns even though I don't own one. Whereas the liberal will say if you don't like porn then don't watch it, they will be perfectly willing to turn around and ban handguns. And yes handguns can be used to shoot people so they affect more than the person owning them. But then porn does the same thing - even if someone chooses not to look at porn themselves, they will still be living in a community where people around them do and thus will be forced to live with the effects. Porn shops aren't known for making a lovely area of town.
No, you posted some article on porn, free condoms & kids in a thread about a Brit talking about pedophilia. Where is the connection?

That is all.
You might want to reread this post for context.

Please look at the entire context of his comment, rather than just a cherry-picked section.

The comment I have an issue with is in reference to the school master and his fellow classmates: “I don’t think he did any of us lasting harm.” Dawkins can certainly speak for his personal experience, but he should not be guessing at what lasting harm his fellow classmates may have endured.

We see it today with teachers and a school board member defending a peer who sexually molested a student for 3 years and asking that he be given a lenient sentence because he's not such a bad guy after all.

BS. As a leftie, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, and someone who supports severe punishment and LONG prison sentences for pedophiles, I find your comment disgusting and insulting.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Salon used to be quite decent until Joan Walsh took over.
It's nothing but tabloid to me any more.

Ah, atheists lack morals.
I'm surprised this argument wasn't presented earlier.

So the Westboro church is moral.
Got it!
