If there was one -- and only one -- perk you could eliminate from the mess that is Washington, D.C., what would it be?

It doesn't necessarily have to be the biggest $$ waster, or anything like that. Just something that you think should be eliminated. Something you think is a complete waste of money.

For me, it would be the Secret Service protection afforded the president AFTER they leave office. I'm okay with it while they are in office, but when you leave office, the protection should end. Immediately.

It's not like any of these clowns came into/left office with $3 in the bank. All of those book advances can buy a lot of mercenary protection.

Most definitely would be their pension. Insurance would be a close second.

Ability to become a lobbyist after they leave office. Almost half of all lawmakers do that now. It was around 5% forty years ago.

Term limits ever 2, 4, and 6 years.

People who support term limits want to tell other states who they can, and can't elect. I may not like Nancy Pelosi, but if the people of her district want to keep re-electing her every 2 years, thats their business.

Get rid of McCain/Graham take your pick and pensions. Toss them all into 401ks with a matching up to a certain percentage. Now a days the private sector worker is lucky to get that.

Congressional terms are limited when voters chose to vote for someone else.
