It is also illegal for a porn store owner to sexually harass their employees as well. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
Company holiday party, the gal gets a vibrator as a gag gift.
If it's corporate america....the gift giver is probably fired and a sexual harrassment suit is likely to succeed.
If it's the porn shop....not so much.
Now if the boss is grabbing the employees private parts etc. then in both cases a suit is likely to succeed.
You really need to broaden your mind as to what can constitute sexual harassment but then again, "grey area" isn't something people around this forum are good with. Generally they cement their position on the barest of information and then shut their mind tight.
Sexual harassment is a violation of federal law. I hope they paid their Employment Practices premium.

This is true. Just because they have a crazy stage persona as entertainers does not mean they should treat their employees as such outside of the arena of entertainment.

It would not matter if she was still hired or let go in regards to the suit. Many people make complaints about harassment before they leave or are fired and many are fired due to making complaints.

And FWIW, even though they say the ICP is from Detroit, they are really from the suburbs and they are not black just in case people want to link all bad rappers as being black such as the initial poster above (even though he took it a step further and included a pop singer - Rihanna). ICP are two white guys.

No, this is like you are working at a porn store, say as a cashier, but then your boss tries to make a porno with you....the boss would be sued for harassment. People who work in raunchier industries are also protected by labor laws.

They are white but at least one of them, Violent J, actually was raised for a time in Southwest Detroit.
I know more about them than I really want to, having worked in Detroit-area record stores in the 1990s.
As a long time recording engineer I've worked with and know quite well several bands that are from that era - NIN, Marylin Manson, Rob Zombie, Prong.
Mostly, I was the only woman in the room, and I can tell you unequivocally that if any of those guys had given me a sex toy in a degrading and harassing way, that it would have ended up right back at them up where the sun don't shine.
They never did, I was treated with the utmost professional respect - however, it would have been daft of me to not have a sense of humor and to be over sensitive. You aren't working with accountants.
Having said that, ICP has a reputation throughout the industry of being complete d bags. It doesn't surprise me in the least that they had no boundaries when it comes to professional courtesy and respect for the people (and there's always a lot of people) that they worked with.
This woman is a pro and as such has an expectation to be treated as such. Just because they have a supposedly shocking persona, they don't have the right to act that way toward employees/personnel behind the scenes. It is not up to her to quit because they can't follow employer standards that the rest of us have to follow.
And knowing their rep, I have no doubt that that kind of treatment/hazing was not limited to female staff only. No doubt. They are classless individuals and it's come back to bite them in the arse. Good. Women in the music biz should not be treated that way. Nobody should.

I don't think one person in this thread is disagreeing with you....
The question was/is, this lady knew who ICP was, their ways, yet she still went into that job, KNOWING how ICP was, it's not like they have not been around for only a year or 2....
That doesn't matter, they hired her to do a job and with hiring someone comes responsibility as an employer.

I don't know what an Insane Clown Posse is, but if I wanted to work for them, it would be prudent to expect the worst. I'd suspect that insane clowns wouldn't be exactly PC.
Thats what I was thinking. Also why I wouldnt go into bar and sue all the horny drunk people.
