After weeks of goading the GOP House members to send a spending bill to the Senate that defunds Obamacare, now that the House has obliged, Senator Cruz is telling Republicans in the Senate to not allow the House bill to come up for a vote because Republicans don't have the votes to pass it as it stands.

“I hope that every Senate Republican will stand together and oppose cloture on the bill in order to keep the House bill intact and not let Harry Reid add ObamaCare funding back in,” Cruz says. Which means that senators who oppose ObamaCare would be filibustering a bill that defunds it.

Even some Republicans are scratching their heads: “The notion of encouraging Republican senators to vote against a bill they support doesn’t seem like a very sensible strategy to me," says Tennessee's Bob Corker.

Cruz Asking Republicans to Block Bill They Support - He's trying to keep Senate from restoring ObamaCare funding as shutdown looms

So Cruz demands that the House pass a bill that includes defunding Obamacare. The House obliges. Cruz then asks the Republicans in the Senate to do whatever it takes, even filibustering, to keep said bill from coming to a vote in the Senate. You can't make up this kind of insanity.

The GOP kabuki theater continues...

So in other words, the House GOP is wasting their time, and our tax dollars spent on their salary, spinning their political wheels and flapping their traps about nonsense.

The Canadian Texas Sen. has had his strings pulled by Jim Demint and now is at a loss for words. Demint was on the verge of losing his fellow Repub. when he left.

Yep. The clock ticks down to October 1st while the GOP wastes time playing games it knows it cannot win. Then they will turn around and blame the left if the government shuts down.

To quote John Dickerson of Slate Magazine: "House Republicans aren't just courting disaster; they're helping Obama make the case that they were the problem all along."

Something that many of us have been aware of for a long time.

"Am I jumping the gun, Senator Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Good Lord. I hope their constituents send in competent, intelligent people in 2014. This bunch of jokers are way past their expiration date.

I really hope the GOP loses their majority in the house. I just love seeing conservatives cry.

The question is, if Cruz is successful in keeping the bill from coming to a vote, what's the plan from there? I mean, come on, an intellectual giant such as Cruz must have a plan for what comes next, right? There's a curious silence about that part of this great plan of his.

LOL!

That's rich!

Cruz wants the bill to come to a vote, so they can then debate it on the senate floor. It is Reid that has drummed up this BS that Cruz doesn't want a vote.
