The Constitution does not ban gay marriage, and the Constitution guides my decisions, not big government.
Letting gay people marry does not discourage straight people from getting married, and it certainly does not discourage them from procreating. By suggesting government can exclude gays from marriage in order to encourage procreation, even though the two issues have no relation to each other, conservatives encourage government to claim it can do anything at all so long as it has what James Madison called a “colorable pretext” for its actions. That’s exactly the kind of thinking that led to Kelo, the Supreme Court decision allowing local governments to confiscate private property if they think they might one day find a better use for it.
Also conservatives say the traditional straight family is – well, traditional. But as another court has noted, this does not explain the reason for discriminating against gays, it merely repeats it.
Repeating a conclusion doesn’t prove it. And besides: “Upholding tradition” doesn’t appear anywhere in the Constitution, either.

This is one reason why Im not a Republican anymore. You can't pick and choose when you want government intervention. I believe in the ability of free men and women , the spirit of independence, and the Constitution. Good luck to all gay people who want to be married and I wish you a life of health and happiness!

It also involves selective reading of the Bible.

The Bible prohibits homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22)

It also prohibits...

Women speaking in church (1 Corinthians 14:34-35).
Adultery (Leviticus 20:10-12) punishible by death.
Lying about virginity (Deuteronomy 22:20-21) punishible by death.
Being the victim of rape in the city (Deuteronomy 22:23-27) punishible by death.
Consuming blood, blood in meat is not exempt (rare meat). (Genesis 9:4)
Eating fat. (Leviticus 3:17)
The consumption of pork. (Leviticus 11:7-8)
Eating aquatic creatures lacking fins or scales. (Deuteronomy 14:9-10)
Performing any work on the sabbath. (Exodus 20:10)
Being a psychic or spiritualist (Leviticus 20:27) punishable by death
Planting more than one kind of seed in a field. (Leviticus 19:19)
Wearing clothing woven of more than one kind of cloth. (Leviticus 19:19)
Cutting the hair on the sides of your head or clipping of the edges of your beard. (Leviticus 19:27)
Tattoos. (Leviticus 19:28)

Yet fundy loons that constantly rave about the evils of homosexuality are not protesting outside of BBQ joints, Great Clips, Red Lobster, Morton's Steakhouse, or Chick-Fil-A for violating gods word. It's just Homosexuals, as a selective reading to justify bigotry.

This kind of hatred blunts Gods word of love and compassion.
