Voice in the head of Tea Party miscreants: "Let's see... If we whine and cry and stamp our feet like two year old children, and refuse to accept that we live in society with others and therefore don't always get our own way, then we can effectively impose our own way on the country by obstructing the government and causing a shutdown. Magically we suddenly get our way by default, with no penalty for using such a scurrilous and childish tactic."
Nice try, Tea Parties. You will pay a price for refusing to act like adults, responsibly participating in the compromise necessary to effectively govern a nation that is not just about you.
Right-wing logic: "Refusing to allow right-wingers to hold the economy hostage so that they can inflict their own way on the nation after having lost the same vote 40+ times, means those standing up to such economic terrorism are the ones who aren't compromising."
I suppose some right-wingers would also advocate that the nation always negotiate with terrorists, giving them whatever they want whenever they decide to attack the United States or Americans abroad.
Obama should negotiate with extortionists? Would it be proper for President Obama to refuse to negotiate if the Tea Baggers demand that he sacrifice one of his daughters on an alter? Now, they have dropped their demands on the ACA and are now demanding slashes in Medicaid and Medicare -- the Romney/Ryan plan. The only prob, those guys lost.

Negotiating with people threatening to harm the nation encourages future extortionists to threaten to harm the nation. We not only shouldn't reward them, we should punish them on Election Day.
