The answer is that Obamacare wasn’t designed to help healthy people with average incomes get health insurance. It was designed to force those people to pay more for coverage, in order to subsidize insurance for people with incomes near the poverty line, and those with chronic or costly medical conditions.

Why did ANYONE think this "Act" would lead to lower healthcare costs? It was drafted behind closed doors with BigPharma, BigInsurance, and BigMedical at the table.

Democrats love tax revenue so they don't want people to be able to afford it so companies and people will pay the fine. If they can afford it BigPharma etc gets more money. A winner for all involved in getting it done behind closed door. They kept republicans out because they knew republicans would call them on it.
