Maybe the Obama administration should have handled it instead. Oh wait...we actually expect someone to be held responsible for these mistakes. I guess that leaves this administration out.

so then let me ask the OP this, would you rather have huge fleets of trucks delivering crude oil to the refineries? or do you think that perhaps pipelines might just be a far more economical alternative? and which do you think would add more to pollution? 100,000(at a minimum) trucks roaming the highways hauling crude oil, or some pipelines transporting the same crude to the various refineries around the country?

and the added pollution is only ONE issue that adding a huge fleet of trucks just to haul crude oil around causes, think about all the added traffic, the possibility of a traffic accident causing an oil spill, and of course the huge added cost of oil based products.

Oil is one of the fastest growing commodities hauled by rail. Since they are losing so much coal traffic it is a godsend.

that may be true, but that also means building rail stations at refineries, or still have those thousands of trucks on the roads locally to transport the oil to the refineries.
