Thanks for proving your ignorance, it is a common mistake many make on this issue. They were not listening to the conversations, they were recording the numbers being called. They are not going to catch them all, let me put it like this, they have to get it right every time or someone pays the hard way, those that wish to harm this Nation and its People only have to get it right every once in a while to accomplish their goals. And you want them to have even less capability, yes, that is the solution.

He was flying back and forth to known terrorist areas. Not a single red flag was raised over that. Call your aunt to tell her thanks for the birthday card and it gets recorded.

It's already been confirmed that Edward Snowden attempted to go through the proper channels to no avail.

Instead he decided to post his information publically and whatever he knows he is sharing with an enemy of this Nation Putin and Russians as we speak, those are not the actions of a Patriot, but are the actions of a Traitor.
Wrong again. Edward Snowden did not post any information publicly. Instead he gave documents to sincere journalists who vet every story with the U.S. government before publishing.

Casper in Dallas: You probably wrongly consider Edward Snowden a traitor because you're not aware of the facts. Please read this article to get yourself up to speed.

He is a Traitor because he swore and oath and leaked documentation that was classified and the result is that he harmed the Nation and may very likely cost some people their lives. Do you actually think Russia/Putin is allowing him to hide out there without squeezing out every bit of information he has? Once they are done with him he will either be thrown out or disappear, interesting that someone against the government spying on others and supposedly violating peoples rights ran to a country that is known for doing both, the guy is an idiot, plain and simple. I see that I can assume you have never had a high level clearance or you would not make some of the statements you have made.

If Snowden won, I'd hate to see what losing looks like. He's stuck in Russia for the rest of his life and at some point the Russians are going to lose interest in propping up his lifestyle. He'll end up living in some dilapidated Soviet era apartment working in some menial job. The United States will continue. The young man made some very poor choices and he is stuck with the consequences. We don't forget or forgive. In 20 years some news organization will run a retrospective piece on him. By then no one will remember his name.

Actually we do forgive and forget and often times realize that it was the country that was wrong.

If Snowden won, then why has he run away to Russia? The simple reason is that he's won a very long prison sentence.
