This was actually a reasonable use of force. The cop did what he could to ensure the girl did not further injure herself.

Using a Taser on an 8 year child is clearly excessive but not surprising. This is the same thug mentality that results in cops shooting a barking chihuahua and claiming it was necessary to prevent the officer from being seriously injured.

How can a news source run by adult people release a news story concerning a little girl and danger, including an indecent , release to this public and deliberately refuse to explain the moment to moment happening in the story ?

How is this possible. Why is everything in media, browser news designed in a leading way ? Does the media news think people are spontaneous rang-a-tangs that do not look at these things before coming to an understanding?

Why are these people doing this, this is a form of brainwashing. Do people not understand this? Im totally confused with the tolerance by the people. They the news should be charged and jailed.

What's even less surprising is to see the trite, kneejerk "I hate cops" twaddle when the use of force and the type used was clearly justified by the circumstances. A kid armed with a knife and threatening to harm herself was disarmed apparently without any injury to anybody, and somebody will still b.itch moan.

Sounds like the police officer should be charged with assault and child abuse. I woulda grabbed the knife and sent her to bed with no television.

I think the concern was the damage she'd do to herself. I can see tasering. It takes a split second to fire the Taser and she'd be unable to stab herself once the current started. IMO, this was the best way to handle this.

In the time he took to move towards her, she could have easily stabbed herself. Tasering makes sense in this case. It rendered her IMMEDIATELY unable to harm herself without actually harming her.
