The percentage of people approving of gay marriage has been steadily increasing. Of those who don't approve, only a small percentage of militant about it. It is those people you read and hear about.
My neighbors are old and they are catholic - devout catholic. Even they don't care even though their church does. They've employed logic and reason rather than doctrine.
My other neighbor is a bit younger and very suspicious of homosexuals, but he's told me that even he doesn't care. In his words, "nobody is perfect - let them be happy."
I might add that I live in a ver conservative part of the nation - not the most conservative, but it's certainly "up" there. The prevailing attitude seems to be that it simply is not an important enough topic to get your panties in a bunch.
Alas, that's just anecdotal.
Yeah, even if you dont "agree" fully with it, you shouldnt be messing with other peoples lives. My second great uncle and their wife are VERY conservative (also they are in their 80s now, so they clearly were raised in a different world than i was), right wing, they are also rich, etc. And one of their sons (now in his 60s) turned out to be gay. Their reaction (this all happened before i was born) was to stop talking to him. They were separated/non sepaking for years, like 20 years or so! The old folks finally gained sense of the world they were living in and started accepting his son, and now him, his VERY young boyfriend (my uncles boyfriend is my age! -30- and my uncle is something like 65) and a whole bunch of other conservatives relatives sit together in the christmas table and is all cool.
Yeah, i dont like their views, and they certainly were dicks to their son for not talking to him, but at least they finally came to their senses.
The crazy people that advocates against gay marriage just leave me..... I could never understand THOSE people.
Isn't that what Rush says...that people come to him with a head full of mush? Doesn't he call his show the institute for advanced conservative studies? Meaning you come to him to learn what to think.

No it's still not the same thing. Close enough but not the same. And if you were trying to say adults are suckers for propaganda as well? It hardly starts and ends with Rush and his conservative base.
Or were you implying I listen to Rush...because you'd be wrong on that note too.

Sure, they should be allowed to....but that norm shouldn't be projected and forced on to me. Just like my values and norms shouldn't be prescribed to them.
