If professional sports were run like corporate America the GM would make $100 million a year, the coaches would make $100k if lucky, and the players would be making $10 an hour.
Even the greatest sports franchises are worth $1bil at best.

Which means their coaches\GM's etc. typically make > 0.2% of the franchises net worth not counting the players.

That's equal to or MORE than comparable ratio to what the CEO's of fortune 500 companies make.

I don't seem to hear you comparing Lebrons salary to that of the guy selling peanuts in the stands or soft drinks at the concessions booth?

Hmmmmmm......................

So, you have no problem with a sports player or actor making mega millions, but you do have a problem with a CEO making the same.

You have no problem with Will Smith making 20 Mil for MIB3? Leonardo DiCaprio making 59 mil for Inception?

You may be math guy but you apparently don't know **** about corporate governance. Any publicly traded company does give up a large degree of freedom and falls under the control of the government. The government has no direct ownership in said company, but it does have the authority to assert a degree of control of said company. I know certain people have a hard time understanding this concept, that is why such upstanding corporate leaders like Jeffrey Skilling, Dennis Kozlowski, and Sanjay Kumar are now serving nice long prison sentences.

People complain about athlete and actors salaries all the time... i think the difference between a CEC and Lebron is the CEO has more control/influence over the compensation of employees.

First of all, it is none of your business. How a company's CEO gets paid is the matter of its shareholders. If you aren't a shareholder, it's the time to mind your own business.

Secondly, if you think a person who is responsible for bringing billions of dollars profit and supporting hundred thousands of employees should not be awarded handsomely, you need to get your brain checked. Think Steve Jobs and how he saved Apple.

65 percent of all American workers make less than $40,000 a year before taxes, and 40 percent make less than $20,000 a year, one out of every four American workers has a job that pays $10 an hour or less.

The top 7 percent of all U.S. households own 63 percent of all the wealth in the country, while according to numbers that were just released this week, 49.7 million Americans are living in poverty, a new all-time record high.

In America the wealthiest one percent have a greater net worth than the bottom 90 percent combined.

Nearly half of all public students in the United States come from low income homes.

America has a higher percentage of workers doing low wage work than any other major industrialized nation does.

The ruling class that lefties love so deeply are the new royalty.

Politicians allow preferred businesses to set policy. For instance, obama bailed out GM....for the unions. Family owned dealerships and non-union suppliers were sacrificed for the preferred business of the UAW.

This fact is indisputable.

Lefties operate on emotion, not reality, thought or fact.

There are a growing number among us who are lazy, selfish and greedy.....sitting around all day waiting for their check to arrive all the while complaining that their neighbor has more than they do.

So a corporate monarchy vs a lying socialist, unethical ideolog that offers no jobs and divides the country and makes what appears to be very bad decisions but in fact makes calculated eecisons to break down the country to create a socialist society devoid of incentive and enthusiasm... I pick the monarchy which really isn't a monarchy.

Your choice of legislators reflects your own failings and their lack of ethics makes them susceptible to buisness and political connected businesses who buy them off.

So the real problem is your ethics and who you choose to represnt you.

ok for your information, the only "control" a government has over a corporation is through regulations that the company has to abide by. and just because a corporation is publicly traded, does not make it a public company, it is still a PRIVATE corporation, meaning it has no government ownership. and a publicly traded company does not fall under the control of the government, except through regulation that ALL businesses have to abide by. the only people that a CEO answers to is the shareholders and the board of directors. please get an education in this regard.
